Single Touch Payroll reporting extended to now cover small business

On Tuesday, members of the lower house of federal parliament considered and voted to extend the Single Touch Payroll (STP) system to now include all businesses with 19 or fewer employees. This means all employers must electronically file each pay run with the tax office using bookkeeping software that complies with STP, starting 1st July 2019.
